BEONYEOK ("we", "our", "the app") is a Korean language learning app that helps users learn Korean through K-pop lyrics. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

a) Account Information (if you sign in)
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive:
- Display name
- Profile picture URL
- Email address (for authentication only)
We do not store your password. Authentication is handled securely by Google, Apple, and Supabase.
b) Learning Data
When you use the app, we store the following to provide and improve your learning experience:
- Vocabulary progress (memorized and saved words)
- Study history (songs studied, study count)
- Learning streak and activity dates
- Favorite songs and followed artists
- Language preference
c) Device Information
We generate a random device identifier (UUID) stored locally on your device. This is used solely to support guest mode functionality and is not linked to your personal identity.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the app's learning features
- Save and sync your learning progress across devices
- Manage your ticket balance for song access
- Prevent abuse through rate limiting
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data is only processed through the following service:
- Supabase — our backend provider for authentication and database hosting, which processes data on our behalf.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers with row-level security policies ensuring that each user can only access their own data. We implement rate limiting to protect against abuse.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed from our servers.
6. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Use the app in guest mode without providing personal information
8. Advertising
The app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements to free users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and advertising data to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance. For more information, see Google's privacy policy.
Pro subscribers do not see ads.
